The Sellwood Community House, 1436 SE Spokane Street Portland, Oregon, will give the Rosarians use of their facility outdoors (or the lobby if there is inclement weather) to host an Open House on March 14th between noon and 2:00 pm, where past winners and structural engineers will talk with potential racers and their parents on the methods of building a milk carton boat. Alpenrose is delivering milk cartons in time for kids to get started designing and working on their milk carton boats during Spring Break. This Open House is an opportunity to get some milk cartons shared with some families who can get started on this family project. We have need of a few Rosarians to greet the families when they arrive and answer any questions we can answer or refer them on to the past winners or structural engineers to talk about technical questions. |
