Memorial for Duke Tedd Chilless
Oct. 17, 2026 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Memorial Service for Duke of the Realm Tedd Chilless, who served as Prime Minister in 2001:

 Saturday, October 17th

The Atrium at Montgomery Park

2700 NW Vaughn Street

Portland, Oregon

1:00 pm

The Rosarians will perform a Rose Ceremony as part of the service, and everyone is invited to participate.

For those who have not attended a rose ceremony: this is a way to honor Rosarians who have passed. All members are encouraged to participate, even if they do not personally know the deceased. The ceremony primarily consists of each Rosarian placing a white rose in a vase. Specific instructions will be provided upon arrival.

Please register by end of day Wednesday, October 14th so we know how many roses to purchase.

When: Saturday, October 17, 2026 1:00 pm (Rosarians arrive by 12:15 to assemble and receive instructions about the ceremony.)

Attire: Whites, capes, gloves, no hats; new members who do not yet have whites may wear green jackets and black pants.  Other attendees are encouraged to wear cheerful, colorful attire to honor Tedd's love of painting.

Sunshine Division - Food Packing
Oct. 21, 2026

 REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

Come join us as we put boxes together to support our community. It’s a simple, hands‑on way to give back, connect with others, and have fun while making a real difference.

Sunshine Division provides immediate food relief to Portland Metro families and individuals in need. This simple mission began over 100 years ago in Southwest Portland’s Goose Hollow neighborhood when Portland Police Reserve officers delivered meal baskets to families in need during the holidays.Today, they continue to evolve and expand the programs to better serve the most vulnerable neighbors across the metro area.  Please take a few minutes to read the Volunteer Orientation and Parking Guidelines.

Please complete the General Release before your event. If minors are participating, a Parent/Guardian Release is required.

When: Wednesday, October 21st 10am-12pm

Where New Warehouse 2121 NW Front Ave. Portland Or. 97209

Attire: Rosarian Gear and comfortable closed-toe shoes and socks for safety. No sandals, slides, flip-flops, birks, crocs, etc.

  • Be alert and cautious—it’s an active warehouse with forklifts, pallet jacks.
  • Do not enter restricted areas or operate any power equipment at any time.

Other Notes

  • Take your time while volunteering, there is no rush to finish quickly. Although we schedule shifts for 1.5-2 hours, energetic and efficient groups often complete their required tasks faster.
  • We have water and snacks as well as lockers to store your things safely.

LOCATION - PARKING - ARRIVAL

Address: 2121 NW Front Ave. Portland, OR 97209

  • Type the full address into your mapping app; it may come up as Flooring Solutions, this is correct.

  • Do not park in the 4 spots directly in front of Nest's business.
  • Do not park in the 4 spots at the north end of the lot facing Front Ave. These spots belong to the Carton Service. They have black and white Executive Towing signs and will enforce.

Arrival: When you arrive, you'll ring the bell at the warehouse entrance (south side of the building by 17th Ave/Railroad Tracks) and we will come let you in. The volunteer center is the first right as soon as you enter.

Portland Bologna Sister City Sagra Dinner
Oct. 25, 2026 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

The Portland Bologna Sister City Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that celebrates Italian-American culture in Portland and its unique connection to Bologna, Italy. We are one of Portland's ten Sister Cities, hosting cultural events, fairs, dinners, and our flagship program: an annual youth exchange every June between Portland and Bologna. We hold various fundraising events throughout the year to support our efforts; our largest fundraiser is the Sagra Dinner & Auction, which we host with a local Italian restaurant every fall. This year, we've partnered with an icon of Portland's dining scene: Nostrana, on Sunday, October 25th from 5p-9p.

The money raised through the silent auction supports our annual youth exchange, which gives our high school-aged cohort a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to embark on a two-week exchange to Bologna every summer and stay with peers their own age. This year we have set a goal of $15,000 for our Youth Exchange Program; the menu is coming soon!

If you are unable to attend, there are other ways to support this fundraiser:

  • Bidding in the auction (opens Monday, October 12th at 12 PM)
  • Making a donation and writing Sagra 2026 in the memo
  • Sharing the ticket link with friends
Tickets for Sagra 2026 can be purchased here.

Hope to see you there!
